Let’s be real about this job: you’ll clean a lot of kennels, walk a lot of dogs, and occasionally get sneezed on by a very unhappy cat. You’ll also be one of the most important people in this building. The animals in our care depend on you for comfort, cleanliness, and kindness on some of their hardest days — and our medical team depends on you to keep things running so they can focus on patient care.

The day-to-day
- Feeding, walking, and monitoring hospitalized patients throughout the day
- Cleaning and disinfecting kennels, exam rooms, and common areas to a high standard
- Restraining and handling animals safely and calmly, including anxious or fearful patients
- Assisting veterinary technicians and veterinarians with basic patient care and procedures
- Doing laundry, dishes, and the general unglamorous upkeep that keeps a clinic running
- Monitoring patients for changes in behavior, appetite, or condition, and reporting concerns promptly
- Restocking supplies and keeping treatment and hospital areas organized
- Providing comfort and enrichment to patients staying with us, especially the nervous ones
- Assisting with patient transport within the clinic
- Supporting the front desk and technical team wherever an extra set of hands is needed
What you bring
- A genuine love of animals, including the ones having a bad day
- Physical stamina, since this role involves a lot of walking, lifting, bending, and being on your feet
- Comfort with cleaning, mess, and the less glamorous side of animal care
- A calm, steady presence around anxious or reactive animals
- Reliability and a strong work ethic, since patients depend on consistent care
- A willingness to learn and take direction from technicians and veterinarians
- No prior veterinary experience required. We’re happy to train the right person
