Location: Endicott Veterinary Care Center and/or Country Care Veterinary Center – Afton, NY.
Join us as we open the doors to a brand-new veterinary hospital.
Endicott Veterinary Care Center is building something rare: a veterinary hospital built from ground up to support excellent medicine and a genuinely sustainable career. We’re looking for a Veterinarian to join our founding team, whether you’re a recent graduate ready to grow into your career, an experienced clinician looking for a change of pace, or somewhere in between.
We believe in good medicine, a good workplace, and helping people and pets. Here, you’ll be expected to practice thoughtfully and thoroughly, and you’ll be fully supported in doing so, by a team that values mentorship, collaboration, and each other’s well-being as much as clinical excellence.
The opportunity
- A facility that was thoughtfully designed and equipped for high-quality diagnostics, surgery, and patient care
- Full-time and part-time positions available, with flexibility to fit where you are in your career and your life
- The chance to help shape hospital culture, protocols, and standards from the outset, rather than stepping into something already set in stone
- A caseload and schedule structured to support thorough, unrushed medicine
- A collaborative team of technicians and support staff who take their roles seriously and take pride in the work
What you’ll do
- Diagnose and treat a broad range of medical, surgical, and preventive care cases
- Perform routine and advanced surgical procedures
- Develop and communicate treatment plans clearly with clients
- Interpret diagnostic testing, including bloodwork, imaging, and other in-house diagnostics
- Maintain thorough, accurate medical records
- Collaborate closely with technicians and support staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care
- Mentor and support veterinary technicians, assistants, and, depending on experience level, other veterinarians
- Stay current with evolving standards of veterinary medicine and contribute to ongoing improvement of clinic protocols
What we’re looking for
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
- Current or eligible veterinary licensure in the state
- New and recent graduates are welcome and will receive structured mentorship and support
- Experienced veterinarians are welcome and will find real autonomy, along with a team invested in supporting their approach to medicine
- Strong diagnostic and surgical skills, or a genuine willingness to build them
- Clear, compassionate communication with clients and colleagues alike
- A collaborative mindset and respect for every member of the veterinary team, regardless of role
Why practice here
We are building this hospital around a simple premise: veterinarians do their best work when they are well-supported, not stretched thin. That means reasonable scheduling, realistic caseloads, and a leadership team that listens and provides the tools needed for success.
For recent graduates, this means structured mentorship, a team that welcomes questions, and room to build confidence and skill without being rushed. For experienced veterinarians, this means genuine autonomy, a team that respects your judgment, and the opportunity to help shape a new hospital’s standards and culture rather than simply working within someone else’s.
Across every career stage, we hold ourselves to rigorous clinical standards because our patients deserve nothing less. We also recognize that sustainable, high-quality medicine depends on a workplace where staff feel supported, respected, and able to bring their full attention to patient care, not depleted by it.
Full-time and part-time options
We understand that veterinarians are at different points in their careers and their lives, and we’ve structured this opportunity accordingly:
- Full-time positions offer a consistent schedule, full benefits, and the opportunity to build a long-term caseload and client relationships
- Part-time positions offer flexibility for veterinarians balancing other commitments, transitioning between roles, or simply seeking a different pace, without sacrificing meaningful, engaging work
We’re happy to discuss what structure would work best for you during the interview process.
Benefits
- Competitive salary, commensurate with experience
- Health insurance
- Paid time off and holiday pay
- Continuing education allowance
- Professional license and association dues covered
- Malpractice insurance coverage
- Employee discounts on your own pets’ care
- 401(k) with employer match
If you’re looking for a hospital where clinical rigor and genuine support for staff go hand in hand, and where you can help shape something new from the very beginning, we would welcome the opportunity to speak with you.
